Yichus

The following information I got from Daniel Polakovic Jewish Museum Prague:

On the other hand, indeed in Tachau lived two men by the same name and family name (Joachim Adler) at the same time and the family of Nachum Sofer became extinct in the male line. The second Adler family, detaily described by J. Schön in his book, has no blood relations with Nachum Sofer on basis of the deep archival research. Nachum Sofer had two grandaughters and from one was acquired his manuscript. His genealogy is fully analysed in my study, the unsolved mystery still remains in case of his birth date and marriage approval (Konzens).

A basic structure of his yichus is following:
father: Joseph, rabbi, from Poland
mother: Libe/Libat, daughter of Moshe from Silesia
brother: Zvi Hirsch
(first wife?): Edl (mentioned in 1786, maybe identical with Sara)
(second?) wife: Sara Bloch from Tachau (1755-1813)
Children (died in childhood/youth): Josef, Lea, Mindl, Libusch, Avraham Moshe
Son: Josua (1779-1806), married with Esther Bloch
Daughters: Rivka, Esther, Judith (married with Markus Schiller)
Granddaughters: Barbora Schiller (died as single in 1895 in age of 80) and Anna (née Schiller, married Abeles in Tachau)
Grandson: Joseph (1804-1837), single
Many family members (included him) died on „a family disease“ – pulmonary tubercolosis.
